The Constitution

As I have studied the Constitution and Declaration of Independence there are some things I believe are important to consider, starting with the Pre-Amble. “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union,”

Union; meaning a group joined together for a common purpose. We need to become unified or as one. We cannot be unified if we are afraid for our lives, liberty or property. Government should be concerned with issues that affect every person in our State and Nation. This can help us create unity in our state.

“establish Justice,”

Justice; we must have the security of knowing we have justice from our courts and laws. Having that peace of mind helps us to have unity in our State and Nation.

“insure domestic Tranquility,”

Domestic Tranquility; to have peace at home in our State and Nation are essential to creating a unified society.

“provide for the common defence,”

Defence; to defend our borders and our people from all threats both foreign and domestic. When we are safe we can be unified.

“promote the general Welfare,”

General Welfare, this is a very important because this is protecting our way of life. Protecting our life, liberty and property. General Welfare is all of our commonality, without focusing on individuals or special interests.

“and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

When the Government follows the Constitution we have freedoms protected. I hope we all can develop a greater understanding of the Constitution and the Blessings of Liberty we have.
